Really, why do so many people vehemently hate religion if they don't believe it exists? Believers try to spread love, faith and hope, yet it is so painfully obvious that so many people on this board feel that it is their lot in life to spread hatred, dissent and violence. If the non-believers say there is no hell, can we just go ahead and push them all in?

Research the history of religions, and you will find out the answer for yourself. Religion is a business. A way to rule. The Catholic doctrines say that the Pope is all powerful, and should be King/President/_____ (fill in the blank). To that end, the Constitution of the United States is an unholy document, and "religion" as an organized political machine is very close to dismantling it. The Patriot Act is 3/4 the way there. Did you know the Federal Reserve Bank is owned by someone other than the good old USA? So who controls our money? Wanna know? Look it up for yourself!

People hate religion because it is evil. You are a misguided follower who can't see outside the box they have placed you in.

People dont hate the idea of spirituality or God, just the groups and individuals who try and force it on others, for control or political gain, and kill innocents for believing in other "religions" or Gods. Do some research. Please!

It's not religion that people hate, it's the concept that we NEED it, like we're not capable of living a life, taking responsibility and thinking independently. Also because those who choose to get caught up in religion get brainwashed, bent out of shape, refuse to be open to logic and get all blinkered in it.

I quote your last part ' if the non-believers say there is no hell, can we just go ahead and push them all in?' Hmmm, but you just also said that believers try to spread love faith and hope.... a bit contradictory there eh ? Oh but then you want to push people into the hell that doesn't exist. lol Profound.

No one is saying religion does not exist, of course it does, that is abundantly clear. Some people do not accept that God exists in the exact manner described by various religious texts such as the Bible. There is quite a difference.

It is interesting that you assert that religious people are so nice and all they want to do is spread love and hope, yet in the same paragraph you want to round up all the people that do not think like you and push them into Hell, presumably where Satan will torture them horribly for eternity. Yeah, that sounds lovely. Thank you for demonstrating your wonderful values by advocating such hate and violence to your fellow man. Jesus would be very proud of you.

"Believers try to spread love, faith and hope" Have you read any history besides the Bible? And even BIble?
What you trying to say is the Cristianity in the last 30-50 years but you being subjective only to that period of time. Look slightly further then get back to your own words.
"If the non-believers say there is no hell, can we just go ahead and push them all in?"
Would like to be genocide and go strait to heaven? why wait? Remember GOD spread his love , faith, hope on those billions of ppl who he genocide in Great Flood.
WOuld you like to have same love and hope like he did before? Let me know

I don't know the answer as to why, that's in their belief system. Everyone has the right to think, do and say whatever they want without being judged. What bothers me is the rudeness that both the religionists and atheists exhibit toward each other. I don't believe that's necessary no matter what your agenda is. Whether it be sarcasm, wit or mockery, it's a shame. I was taught there is a thin line between love and hate. With Indifference comes, hopefully, respect. At least it would move each toward acceptance of one another.

All religions are different and it is safe to say that some religions seem more like a cult then anything. I personally have a certain faith in a higher being. However, just because you have different beliefs does not mean you are not a good person. Joining a certain religion is scary to a lot of people

There are basically two types of believers (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, name it): Those who truly live the faith and follow by example, and those who preach the faith but act contrary to its principles.

You will find the former selflessly volunteering in food banks, hospitals, and as missionaries half-way around the world, with very little personal gain. You will find the latter holding prominent positions in most religious organizations, with plenty to show for, at times with incomes many times greater than that of the President of the US.

First of all, non-believers of which religion?
A person is free to believe whatever he/she wishes, whether or not it goes against other relgions. Two people could be of the same religion but have different beliefs about how it works.
And I know from experience, believers don't try to spread love, faith or hope. They make you feel bad for not believing in their religion so they can offer help and "save" you...aka. converting and imposing their religion on others

It says in the King James Bible that in the last days, people will turn against God, and talk like these people do about him. Time is short, keep the faith. Read John Haggee's book Attack on America, and Countdown to Jerusalem.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
That is why we are here. I'm not so much want to put your faith in doubt. But to see past the stories. Most of them or translated wrong.
