When I perm at home I use Dark and Lovely because the products that accompany the relaxer are really moisterizing. I think it's good to switch up your perms from time to time as well. I have used Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil perm as well.

I would really suggest going to the salon when possible so that you don't overprocess your hair by taking too long with the application.

Good luck!

Use Dark and Lovely!! That perm is the best!!! When I put a perm in my hair, I usually don't have to put another one in for about 3 or 4 months!! It is really GREAT!! I have been using it now for about 7 years, and I did try other ones, but they just didn't relax my hair the way that Dark and Lovely does. But, this is just my opinion. And if your hair is like mine, of fine texture, then I would suggest using the regular Dark and Lovely relaxer because anything stronger will just break your hair off. But if your hair is thick, then use the super strength.

i use precise by soft sheen carson, i think... the makers of dark and lovely. i have been using it for years. but i dont use it regularly, about 2 times a year because my hair is not that kinky. Make sure you keep it conditioned, whatever relaxer you decide to use. Mine has grown long and thick because of proper care routines. but just find out what works for you. what works for one may not work for another.

African Pride is the BEST sweetie. I would use the medium strength. If you have very very thick, hard to comb hair, then use the super strength. You could pick this up at Wal Mart :)

I love Mizani too! Check with your hairdresser. She can tell you what's best for your hair. Make sure you use quality products also (i.e. oil sheen, shampoo, etc.).
