Hi,
Currently Catholic prieast are not technically allowed to marry.
However it is not written in stone...
Priest were married for the longest time.
Celibacy was instituted in order to correct certain social issues in the past. The Church at the time face the issues of Priest who could not totally devote themselves to their community because of their own family obligations thus creating conflict of interest....
There is currently a specific Catholic Order adopted by the Church in Africa. Because of cultural realities, those priest are recognized by the Vatican as offical priest and can marry... But that is an exception.
In the West, the issue will have no choice but to be readdressed soon... As the number of Priests are dwindling yet the number of lay are increasing... Plus there is the place of women...
My five cents ;-)

If we talk about only about Roman Catholic priest, no. But many are violating the sanctity of the church by having mistresses. The very reason is a married priest or a man who has an ongoing sexual relationship is deemed unclean in performing mass or the eucharist. Mystical studies find that the negative vibrations being cast away from the church goer is bound to be absorbed by the officiating priest if he is "defiled" in spirit or body, that is also the reason why a woman is not recommended to become a priest because of this consequences.
Another reason, critic suggest is that a married priest will have his wife have dominion over the property of the church which is suppose to be for the whole dominion of the catholic church worldwide.

Most Catholic priests are not allowed to marry. Marriage is not a sin for them, but it is a huge commitment that can take away from their ministries. However, in rare cases, the pope has allowed some priests to marry.

In the early church priests could be married after receiving Holy Orders (offically priests who could preform all duties). This was stopped due to the risk of inheritence problems and the general requirements of the job (its a 24/7 days a week commitment).
Now if a man should want to become a priest who is married PRIOR to entering a seminary (school of priests) he is of course permited to remain married due to the high reverence of marriage in the catholic church.
While it is not common in the Roman rite, in the Eastern rite (the Byzantine church) married priests are very common because of the traditions of those rites. (They were once Eastern Orthodox who returned to the Catholic church at a later date). It is not unheard of for Protestant ministers who convert to Catholicism and already have families to become priests.

No, because they give their whole lives in service of the Church. Celibacy is a gift from God. They have to give their whole being, time, and energy to serve their parishioners. They are called to be another Christ.
