in many species of birds the parents together make the nest. I think their are few that do it alone. Now a bird like the African Horn Bill though the mother seals herself into a tree cavity with help from the male and she stays the entire time till the babies are grown with the father feeding the family. Some birds like the cowbird actually push an egg out of the other birds nest and puts it's egg in it's place then when they hatch the cowbird baby grows faster and takes over.

Well, are you talking about wild birds or pet birds? Pet birds can't really make a nest if they're stuck in a cage with no resources used to make a nest. Normally the owner of the pet birds will buy them a nest box from a pet store.

It depends on the species. Some birds have both participate, some only the male, but most only the female.

It depends on the species of bird;some birds don't even make nests;they lay their eggs in another unsuspecting bird's nest!

depends on what type of bird you're talking about.
i know that the wild house finch, mainly the female builds the nest but while i was watching her build the nest, the male house finch would bring her some twigs, grass, rootlets to help her out.
my personal opinion is that the female is the one that does approximately 99% of the work, building of the nest, gathers the material for the nest too.
like i said, it does depend on the type of bird you're speaking about & or referring to.
hope this helps u out.

It depends on the type of bird. Usually the both do it or the female does it by herself. Although the male does sometimes stay and help out raising their kids.

It depends on the species of bird. In some species both male and female participate, in other species just the female.

depends on the species..however most species only the female builds and incubates, but some males will share the building and incubating, but there are others such as in hummingbirds where the male has NO participation at all, just mates with the female then takes off leaving her to raise the chicks.
