Officialy according to thier own Cristian study there are 270 denominations and 1700 sub-divisions.
And it shows that there are some smart ppl out there. They realise selling same bs over and over is not profitable anymroe so they had to be more creative and create others divisions . After you tired to pay for same pizza over and over you simply cook pizza with topings and sell for more.
Therefore GOD exists.

I'm Surprised That Many People Don't Know That There Are Not Many Divisions In Christianity!.....The Definition Of A Christian Is One Who Follows The Teachings Of Christ !....Full Gospel!.....And The Churches You Listed Above Are Just Church Names For There Churches Such As Street Names For Street!.......As Long As These Churches Are Following The Gospel As GOD Instructed....What Difference Does The Names Of The Church Buildings Make?.....We All Fellowship With Each Other And Are Blessed!...

They stem from different leader and their different views of the Bible. The best way to find a church that teaches the truth would be to read the word of God and look for a church that teaches what is in it.

It is bad to go to a church because you like the people that go there however. Read the introduction to C. S. Lewis' "Mear Christianity," to get more perspective on this.

I think in a lot of cases, the divisions aren't that essential, they have to do more with church government and minor differences, not major theological differences.
That said, there are major theological differences (at least I think so) between Bible believing Christianity and Catholicism (at least some aspects of it) and Mormonism.

because they all have a little difference in the things they believe in. and also, they have a different interpretation of the bible itself meaning they think that the message the bible is trying to deliver is different. And if people are religious, they will probably have a strong belief in what they believe in.

Because everyone thinks they are right when it comes to worshiping God. They think they know what's best because they are 'holy' and then people believe them.

Because it is in our nature to divide ourselves into groups, smaller and smaller.
Same thing with countries, cities, race, culture, language, music, sports etc. etc.
We need to have someone to oppose to and fight/kill/argue/hunt.
Church is no different.
