Hello, the CHSPE really isn't all that hard but I do suggest studying a bit for it. The English part is extremely easy. I think that the stories are at 4th grade level and the questions are common sense. The grammar part is easy too. The Writing part is easy but I did take me some time to write about it. My topic was: Do you think that minors should have a curfew? Do you think they should be in at a certain time?

Another one was: What, in your opinion, is the most difficult stage of life, childhood, teenage, adult, or old age.

The Math part is a bit hard and I do suggest studying for this. Just take your time and read the questions carefully. A few of them are easy as can be but there are a few hard ones.

3 1/2 hours is really not enough time if you want to take your time and thoroughly check your work after. I suggest doing the math part first.

You should do fine. Go ahead and take it. The website is chspe.net. Did you pass the exit exam. The math part on the exit exam is easier than the math part on the CHSPE so if you didn't pass the math part on the exit exam, you might fail it on the CHSPE.

Are you referring to the CAHSEE? (California High School Exit Exam)

It is not difficult at all. It is comprised of 8th grade level math, and 10th grade level English skills. I don't recall what the exact statistics are for the state, however at our school 80% of sophomores pass it the first time. None of our seniors were held out of graduation because of failing the exit exam (those who failed the exam also failed their classes). Our school has an API ranking of 5-6, so it is fairly average.

If you really are referring to a test called the CHSPE, I don't know. I haven't heard of it. But then, I've only been teaching here in California for 2.5 years.
