Voltage in France is 220 V 50 Hz where it is 110 V 60 Hz in the US.
Depending of the electric device you carry, it may make a difference.

By fast train, I would recommend Marseilles. Only 3 hours from Paris!

Most, if not all, of Europe uses the 220v outlets. So, if you are going to be bringing any electrical devices/appliances bring an adapter.

Where to go from France by train, fast? Well, the TGV (France's high speed trains) can go anywhere you'd like, quickly!

I love France too. But if you're American and/or don't speak French, there's a good chance you might hate France/Paris. So take a zip over to Italy. Everyone loves Italy.

Get yourself one of those international adapters, to be on the safe side. The Eurostar runs from Paris to London extremely quickly. as Long as you are going to be in Paris, Take the train to Versailles, well worth the trip. (the palace where the kings (Louis XIIII, Louis XVI, etc., Marie Antoinette, And Napoleon lived)
