Sheikh Usama bin Ladin has claimed many times that the struggle Muslims are executing is not for politics, but for cause of religion itself.
I disagree, because the main demand of those affiliated with him is creating Taliban-style theocracies around the globe and till 2070 defeat Norway and Sweden as last bastion of Christendom and thus establish wolrdwide Caliphate, which is, in nature, a political attempt.
Terrorism of al-Qaeda works in a such way, that it is atool which takes political system out of normal functioning and makes governments take decision contrary to normal course. Tools are intimidation, coersion, murders, bimbings and insurgency. they are well financed and well-planned.

I'm not so sure for the political uses, but thisis the dictionary definition: The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.
To me, terrorism in used politics is basically anyone who attacks the homeland to cause chaos and fear for political, ideological, or religious reasons.

Terrorism uses violence, social threats in order to generate fear, cause disruption, & brings about political & religious demands.
It is used to change the political direction of a country or cause major problems within a country.

This is a religious war. The name should be changed from the global war on terror, to the global war on radical Islam.

The right sees it as a religious war, those on the left in this country have a hard time seeing religion so they cannot see how this is a war of religion.
