Take something you like, and work from there... Make a theme. I love the color pink, and I love taking pictures of my friends and I together, so evertyhing in my room was pink and I surrounded the walls with pictures everywhere.

Hi Daniel. are you wanting a moder grown-up looking room? Start with a new comforter that suits your tastes. And, as everyone else has stated, paint does a lot for a new look.

blood on the wall from slitted wrists always adds a nice touch to any room, though catching a jugular will achieve the same effect faster

paint it bright colours, and then get a really nice dresser, bed, chest with drawers, and a night table, then get sum funky bedsheets that match the walls, then go to Write Impressions and Lollipop and get the neatest stuff to decorate. p.s. I havent done it, but wheni get my own room, I am sooo considering it :D

Instead of painting your room like others have suggested, just
have vibrant colored curtains, bedsheets, and accesories. Plus a
black light helps.

I always like a tropical theme...like palm tree bedspreads and some bamboo draperies. It makes you feel like you are on vacation all of the time.
