What an awesome posting! Thanks for giving me something to think about. I love it, it is so true.

Prayer? Potion? Oops, looks like you leaked some religion into that science, there. Wipe that up before it stains. This is specifically medical science, anyhow, and they've really never denied the healing power of plants. Where do you think antibiotics came from in the first place? What do you think penicillin is?

1943 AD - "We need faster flying machines to win the war"
1985 AD - "The Concorde is the fastest civilian jet"
2002 AD- "We need tighter security at airports because of religious terrorists"

How about christianity?

Birth of Christ: Lets worship a baby from a whore who cheated on her husband.
100 AD Lets kill anyone who opposes us and oppress those that we don't kill
1000 AD Nothing new, just needed a new date
2000 AD lets kill the gays, blow up the abortion clinics, and spout off that a bible written by a pedophile and stolen from the ancient peoples told us to do it.

It is like a dog that keeps peeing on the carpet. Just shoot it and end the misery

Nah. People that don't understand science remind me of a dog chasing its tail. "Its" in the context you use it, does not get an apostrophe. Penicillin was discovered not long before D-day in Normandy, and as such should be an entry for 1945 AD

Well, as much as I would love to bash with you - I think this is a bit unfair. I mean isn't it natural, when all else fails, to go back to our roots?

lol! I crack myself up!

All kidding aside: yes, the medical community keep changing their story, but they are also striving to learn. What it really illustrates is that we are no closer to solving the fundamental mysteries of life - and that each and everyone of us must think for ourselves and follow our own path. Medicine (Politics and Religion, for that matter) lets you down most when your attitude is "I don't have to think or know about this. I do what the Dr. (politician or minister) says, that's all i have to do".

Peace!

If you hate science so much, why are you sitting typing on a computer?

If it were not for science there would be no Internet, no plastic, no electric, no cars. We would be living in caves and worrying about being attacked by wild animals. Science is what has taken us from cave men to civilized human beings. To attack science on the Internet is unspeakably stupid.

Funny, nobody questions science when they turn on their boob tube. Do you realize how much understanding of light and quantum physics went into inventing that? By contrast, religion reminds me of a tail wagging the dog. Cute timetable joke, though.

That's medicine, not science, and next time you have an infection, try prayer instead of an antibiotic and see what happens.

More like the tail wagging the dog. Is coffee good or bad this month?

Artificial antibiotic? You're a moron. You should have said, "The organism has become resistant."
