GED, definitely. In the end, it really doesn't matter. It is important to finish school, and moving on to secondary school is a big step. Be proud of yourself and your accomplishments.

You might want to check with your college of choice first to see if the GED is acceptable. Locally the nursing program is very competitive and you must have exceptional character and grades before they will allow you to enter.
Personally, I would always take a high school diploma over a GED. A GED does not hold as much clout as a high school education.
Additionally, if you you had difficulties staying in high school, you may want to think twice about attempting a nursing program. They are very grueling schedules with clinicals, mathematics, science and medical courses with lots of homework.

Get your Diploma... I'm 41 and just graduated and received my High School Diploma. There is a program called running start that they have available here in Washington State that allows you to work on your Diploma and your AA at the same time. Check to see if they have it in your area. It will take some extra time to get your diploma but you will feel better for it. Trust me, I'm glad I did it. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. If I can do it, anyone can. Good luck.

Many nursing schools are very hard to get accepted into. In order to be accepted, your records need to be very good, and they will look more favorably upon a diploma instead of a GED.

get the diploma. theyre supposed to "be the same," but GEDs have a bad reputation and there is a stigma that people with GEDs are screw ups.
