It depends on what job you sign up for. When I enlisted in the Army, I was scheduled to leave 3 months later. I got pregnant therefore could not go. I miscarried and decided to enlist in the Navy like my parents had. I left for boot camp 3 weeks later!

There is no specific time, how long to wait. You can take the ASVAB and not make a choice wether to join or not. When you finally have decided what school you want to go, Better said what job you are going to do. I guess they check and openning for the school(AIT) and 2 months before that you go to Basic. Once you are sworn in that takes to effect. I waited 3 months. Those 3 months help me to train so I did not have to suffered so much and struggle in basic

There is a program called "delayed enlistment". Sometimes students will sign up before graduating, and the Army will allow them to go ahead and enlist and start Basic later. How later is negotiated at the time of signing up.

Basic training date depends on if the basic training has slot. You can join today, and start basic next week or start the next year which is called (delayed entry program)DEP.

It will state on your contract when your BCT is. Since IT is associated with the Signal Corps in Ft. Gordon, GA. Basic would be at Ft. Jackson, SC.

They will assign you a time you want. They may make it seem like you have to go when they say, the worst case scenario you can push back your signing date until you are ready.

When you take your test and go to MEPS, at that point they will tell you when and where you'll go to basic. Also your recruiter can give you an idea of when you can leave for basic.

Yes, they assign you a time when you go. It can be your choice when you leave for boot camp. Once you leave, the next day you will be in boot camp. Good Luck
