Some people believe that it is against tradition, but that doesn't mean it's not okay. If the guy was just a really shy person or if he couldn't work up the courage, then yes, propose to him. I myself would be afraid to propose to a guy just because of the degree of rejection I would face.

Traditionally, there is one day when a gal can propose to a guy, and that is Sadie Hawkin's Day (Feb. 29). This day was created by Al Capp, who originated the comic strip Little Abner, because Daisy Mae (the gal who loved him and who, presumably, he loved in return) could never get the shy L'il Abner to propose. It caught the public imagination, and Sadie Hawkin's Day became an institution. In recent years, it has dropped off, because gals nowadays do propose to guys. But I've noticed they usually only propose if they are sure of the answer!

coming from a guy, I would say YES it is. Remember it does not matter the sex that you are. every person has different personalities. Some are not shy and some are. for instance some guys are scared of rejection and the only way they would get a girlfriend is they are asked out by a girl. and same goes for girls who ask the guys out. or woman to woman or man to man. Just this of this as not as the Turn around dance where the females ask the man to dance but the turn around ask where the woman will ask the man. Hope this helps :-)

Sure, I dont know what's wrong with it. If the guy acts weird towards your propose thingy thing, I suggest going with someone different or asking that guy why the heck he has something against girls proposing.

Only if the guy is okay with stuff like that. It could scare alot of guys thinking that the girl might not respect them enough to think they had the spine to do it. But, just like the men, women should have the guts to do it too.

It is if both parties are ok with it. I personally wouldn't have been happy with my wife proposing to me. I also think the issue is that we know that women are ok with committing, it is the guy that isn't as sure in most cases. I think the man asking is showing his desire to want to commit to the woman.

It's customary for the guy to ask the girl but these days girls aren't waiting around for the guy, they ask him but I wouldn't, When I got older and decided I wanted a husband and was tired of being single and dating, I told my husband, and others i was dating before him that I was too old to be anybody's girlfriend and if they planned to be single and play the field that I would decide when I was done playing with them and move on to find a man who wanted a future with me.

Only if you want a really troubled marriage down the road! Switching the male and female roles will only creat chaos in your relationship, because that's just not the way we were made to be.
