NEVER raid 5 for an Oracle database. Use Mirroring with striping, maybe if your IO is random, and not sequential. Raid 5 will ruin your write performance, and is not a place to put redo log files or the temp tablespace.
Avoid it if you can.

I would have to say raid 5. The best is 1/0 but you waist lots of disk space. I use raid 1(mirroring) for the OS and Raid 5 on the Database.
