He may have been looking for a way out, and your parents gave him a good one.

If he's in love with you, he'd show some resistance to the parents' decision.

Parents do have good insight (much of the time), so there may be something to it, if they disapprove. Without getting all emotional and defensive, you may want to sit down with them and get a better/fuller understanding of what they disapprove of, in your BF. They're just looking out for their little girl. And, although it may not make sense to you, at the time, their protectiveness may be very valid.

We're not confusing, it's just the appearance of being confusing.

If your bf wants to break up, let him GO. He has some other agenda he needs to test, it might turn out to be another gf, or it might be that he has 'listened' to your parents.
If he is right for YOU, he will come back to you. In the long term, the opinions of parents cannot dictate a relationship. Teenagers become adults sooner or later, responsible for their own lives, like it or not, don't they.

Ask your parents why they don't all of a sudden approve of him, and ask him why after 2 years of being together does he want to break up for, and don't accept the first lame excuse he gives you either, make him tell you the truth.

Guys in and of themselves aren't actually all that confusing. They are rather simple. If you're trying to understand him, just look for the most obvious, simple answer. If you have questions, just ask him and expect very simple answers. Ask him what he wants to do and why and if he sees any future for you two. If he sees that your parents don't approve, that probably means to him that it's down hill from here on in. Cut your losses and run.

The question you have to ask is why your parents don't approve? Also if he wants to break up.. let him go. Never stay with someone who does not want to be with you. You deserve better.

I don't think you're giving us all the details.

why do your parents no longer aprove?

If he wants to break-up then you're not left with alot of choices (it only takes 1 person to ruin a relationship).

Why have your parents all of a sudden disapproved? I think that you should talk to them about it. If your guy is worried about what your parents think that's sweet. But if you really love him your parents should be able to accept that.

If you love jim, and want to save it, then don't listen to your parents. I did and lost the love of my life. Do what you feel. It's your life not theirs.
