The ACLU protects everyones rights. Even the all powerful military can't hurt the ACLU. ( Then again the all powerful military can't whip flintstone type Insurgents )

Wow. A little bitter, are you? You need a class in logic. Just because something exists, even long-term, doesn't mean it is good. The ACLU is okay, I guess. It's a free country, so if they want to spend their time protecting the rights of pedophiles and racists, that's fine. If nothing else, it shows how great this country is, that we would tolerate someone like the ACLU running around doing the things they do. It's one of the signs of a truly free and open society.
And our military is a million times better at their job than you will ever be at being a real, logical, intelligent human being. In case you haven't noticed, pinhead, the terrorists (let's call them what they are) are toting rocket-propelled grenades AK-47s.

(CNSNews.com) - The American Civil Liberties Union, often at odds with conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, has asked a court for permission to file a friend-of-the-court brief in support of Limbaugh's medical privacy rights, the ACLU announced on Monday.
"While this case involves the right of Rush Limbaugh to maintain the privacy of his medical records, the precedent set in this case will impact the security of medical records and the privacy of the doctor-patient relationship of every person in Florida," said Howard Simon, executive director of the ACLU of Florida, in a statement on the ACLU's website.
"For many people, it may seem odd that the ACLU has come to the defense of Rush Limbaugh," Simon added. "But we have always said that the ACLU's real client is the Bill of Rights and we will continue to safeguard the values of equality, fairness and privacy for everyone, regardless of race, economic status or political point of view."
Simon noted that the ACLU has defended the rights of every group on the political spectrum - "from anti-war protesters and Oliver North to church-state separation activists and Jerry Falwell."

The ACLU has friends with money. Only a fool could see their agenda and not recognize it for its anti-American bent. In the US, you can do almost anything if you have enough cash.
And please do not underestimate the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. I never saw Barney and Fred with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades.
It is the bleeding heart liberals who have castrated the US military. If we could fight on our terms, then the terrorists would have died already. Unfortunately, the liberal media and groups like the ACLU don't like carpet-bombing and massive air strikes that destroy entire cities.
It is amazing to me how many ACLU lawyers would never have been born if not for the actions of this American military in WWII, when we defeated the enemies the only way that works, through overwhelming strength of force.

You can argue that the ACLU protects everyone's rights - sometimes I think their mission gets a little skewed, and maybe they protect rights that don't exist (ie, that of imprisoned felons to get sex change operations on the taxpayer dime). Still, I'd hate to think where we'd be without them.
