I am military and my non-military husband and I got divorced. Since he is no longer eligible or authorized to have this card (married only 3 years), am I supposed to get it from him or is he supposed to turn it in? Knowing him, he will lie and say he lost it. I don't want him using this card. Is there a way to get the card taken from him?

The military ID has my social security number on it and I am very concerned b/c has used it before (pretending to be me) and got coverage for himself that I had to pay for. Who knows what he could try next, he is scary.

1) You need to inform him that he must return the ID to the military or yourself for disposal at a Military installation as per Federal Law. (2) You need to contact your civilian law enforcement if he has used the ID after your divorce to access any financial or credit card programs that you would be liable for and possibly file charges for fraud or identity theft and then contact the local Social Security Office for a possible change of SSN. Contact your local Military Police/Security Forces office or JAG as soon as possible and explain the situation and ask for assistance and possible solutions.

You should call someone at the ID office and ask them what you should do.To my knowledge,he has no rights to the card unless you have kids. Then they would have a card that he could use to get on base with them.Or you could call Deers and see what they tell you.

He cannot use it for medical purposes, he gets dropped. Probably only to go to the PX or Decca, until the expiration date of the card then it is null. Don't sweat it, think that he is so low he has to resort to lying to obtain benefits. That is a Joke.

Tell him he needs to give it to you or turn it in. If he gets caugth with it, he can be held accountable. Just put fraud alerts on your reports so nobody can order anything on your credit and you should be fine.

Call DEERS they should be able to answer the question, if that's no help, call the ID center directly and ask them.
