There are several French newspapers that are important. L'Equipe is strictly about sports. L'Humanite is a Christian newspaper (Catholic, I believe). L'Express is mostly pictures. Le Figaro is a left-sided newspaper. Le Monde leans to the right. In France, journalists are not expected to remain unbiased when reporting the news, since it's virtually impossible.
