I thought that was a rule when you went to look at puppies. Once you look, you are hooked. I knew the minute he looked me in the eye that he was coming home with me.
Are you having a problem with yours? If you are, find him/her a good home now and continue to look. I agree with all the others, with dogs it is instant love at first sight or not at all. I really don't think you can "learn" to love a dog. It's there or not there.

About 5 minutes! We got him when he was 5 weeks old, and brought him to Texas from West Virginia. He rode all the way home either on my my shoulder or my husband's. We were thoroughly bonded by the time we got home! If you are having trouble....spend some time with your dog.

AT FIRST SIGHT! MY FIRST DOG, ODIE, WAS SO LITTLE THAT YOU COULDN'T HELP FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM. MY SECOND ON, KIKI, WAS A RESCUE, AND WEIGH 3 LBS WHEN WE GOT HER, BUT THATS WAS NOT HER APPROPRIATE WEIGHT. SHE LOOKED SO SAD AND SHE WAS SO UGLY, BUT I COULDNT LEAVE HER SO I TOOK HER HOME AND BATHED HER A THOUSAND TIMES TO GET THE SMELL OF, BUT I ALREADY KNEW THAT SHE WOULD TAKE OVER MY LIFE, AND I LOVE HER TO DEATH. I HAVE THREE MORE CHI'S THAT I LOVE TO DEATH, AND I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR MY BABIES

Not sure what you mean. I love dogs. I have two and I love eveyone else's too. It's some of their owners I do not like!

When I went to go visit her the second time, she sat down and gave me the biggest eyes, and then she pushed her head into my forehead. And then she looked up. I knew that I couldn't live without her, she is now MY BEST FRIEND.....
