The best tasting fish are either bass or walleye. Not sure if bass would live in your area or not, though.
As for either, you would be well off to ask someone local about fishing that particular area, as depending on conditions, time of year, etc. you can get wildly different reactions to the same fishing technique.

Crappie, Sauger, and Walleye are the best tasting fish that I have eaten. It depends on where you live for the best time to catch them. E-mail me at bdetraz2112@yahoo.com for tips on catching them.

Lots of people talk about crappie as a fish with good flavor, I have never ate one so I don't know that for sure. Good luck on your fishing trip....... and whatever you fish for, I hope it is the record breaker.

Catfish in my opinion are the best tasting. Next rated is croppie, bass, walleye.

walleye is my favorite; fish for them with jig, crank bait, or Rapala.
