The ACLU is a joke, as soon as our politicians realize that the better off we will be. The only reason they stay in existance is because idiots like that other guy support getting rid of our freedoms and causing issues instead of defending our liberties. The less power we give them the quicker they will go away. He lied, if he would have showed that card to a Marine that Marine would have taken it away, tore it up and shoved down his throat. Like I said in my response to him if he was really ACLU, why did he have to mention the fact the Marine was black?

I think you have been watching too much Fox News.
Try to think of the ACLU this way: part of our great nation that is giving a voice to a specific group of ppl. That is part of what makes this country great.. the fact that all ppl have a voice.
Also, I don't think ppl would get so upset about the ACLU if the ACLU didn't have some winning arguments. I mean if they were just blowing hotair out their rears then ppl would just say, "crazy ppl" and not worry. Think about it.

I do not agree with the ACLU what so ever. But hard as this is to fathom, they have our countries best interest at heart in their eyes. Like Bush right now, people think he is a tyrant but he believes he has this countries best interest at heart.
The one good thing about this country is that the people who agree with the ACLU are in the minority at this time in this country. They are in the minority because the far left is not winning elections at this time.

The ACLU is far too liberal for my tastes. But if they weren't allowed to do their thing, the deaths of our soldiers would be in vain, because it's basically our freedom they fight for. Our freedom. Other countries freedoms can take a back-seat to ours, including Iraq. It is not our responsibility to spread democracy across the world. If they want it, they will get it one day.

the purpose is to keep the u.s.a from becoming a police state, to protect the freedoms we were granted in the bill of rights, and to see to it that the government stays out of our lives
