So i made beer waffles last night. Add some choc chip and pecans. They were out of this world. I just used the basic mix you use in the store.

Noop, doesn't sound tooo appetizing. but if you'd like to have a recipe here goes:

BEER WAFFLES

3 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1 1/2 c. (1 can) beer
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Pinch of sugar
1/4 c. oil

Beat egg yolks and egg with beer until it fills a good sized bowl. Add flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and oil. This will make a thin batter. Bake on hot waffle iron until steam stops.

Yes. You can't really make them with a premix. You need to do it from scratch like you were making a beer batter or a bread. The beer acts as the leavening agent. The do take a little longer to cook and get crisp. I like to grease the waffle iron a little heavier than normal.

I know it sounds strange, but you can add chopped dill pickles to the batter and cut them up in small pieces for appetizers. It's sort of like having fried dill pickle and beer, but in an appetizer.
