I remember something about outlawing sacharine, back in the day, because it was unhealthy (cancerous?). But, is Nutrasweet a health risk also, or is it just getting a bad rap?

No, it doesn't cause cancer says the latest tests. The ones where it did cause cancer they were giving mice ridiculous amounts of the stuff. (like 1000 pops a day).

But I'm pretty sure that will be an ongoing debate.

Just a quick note...cancer is created by introducing the body to substances that it was not made to tolerate. The body has two choices...eliminate the substance, if it can discern how to, or store it (somewhere), if it can't. Many chemical creations do not take into consideration this simple body feature. So.."come-on" sense...these chemicals cause reactions to our organic systems, ie.mutating cells (cancer) & blocking internal sensors which acitivate organ/system functions. Do Self a big favor...if you can't read it--don't eat it...no worries! By the way, if you are pushed into using "sugar subs" because of diabetes, or the like...try organic maple syrup or unrefined honeys as better choices...your body knows what to do with these things whether it can use them or not...and research for yourself--knowledge is power.

No, it doesn't. Aspartame, the active ingredient in nutrasweet, is probably the best studied food/drug substance. All studies have shown no correlation between Aspartame consumption and cancer.

They first suspected it during a cancer scare. It was the same time that they also told everyone that the blowdryers also caused cancer. It is not true.
