I live near them also and have had no problems. Except for them holding up traffic with their horse and buggy. You are going to find nice people and mean people in every group so why try and make it as if all the Amish are not nice. Kind of makes you look not so nice. I live outside of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We deal with the Amish a lot. Spread love and light up the world. Allow people to believe and live as they choose just as you would like that same respect.

My parents live very close to several Amish families, as did I for a long time. I would have to say there are friendly and non-friendly among them, just like any other group of people. The ones that I knew were very nice, always helpful when they could be, and very close to God. Of-course, they do believe that no one is correct when it comes to religion or God, unless you are an Amish, but they were still always polite.

There are nice people and horrible people among every religious or ethnic group. Maybe we think of Amish people as more pure and simple, because they stick to traditions and we are secretly jealous of them...we would like to live the 'old way', but we are so tied up in the modern times that we can't.

Wow, I'm curious. What do you mean by "I live near them and I know different"?

I don't live near any Amish people as far as I know. I live in Miami, and if there were any Amish people, I'm sure they would stick out like sore thumbs.

Wouldn't you all be surprised if an Amish person answered this question? hehe

I can't speak for them being nice or not, but from a phlebotomist's perspective, they make great sticks!
They've got some of the BIGGEST veins I've ever seen. You could stick it from across the street & not miss!

I'd be pissed too if I had to dress like that and watch the world flying by at such a fast pace and wondering where they are all going so fast.
