It would have helped for you to give us a language you took it from but it looks close enough to German that I'm gonna venture a guess:
If it is, indeed, German then I assume what you actually meant was "heimische" which is derived from Heim = home so it is something that is at home there or that resembles home. It can also mean native as in this native flora and fauna.

It is "heinmisch" (with an "e") and it means homelike or native. For further word translations, you may find http://dict.leo.org/?lang=en useful. I use it all the time :)
