Nuts are healthy to eat. They are packed with protein and a bunch of other vitamins. As long as they arent dipped in sugar or toffee, munch on them. Its better than chips.

Fat is not unhealthy. Greasy fried foods are.

If you have liver or gall bladder trouble, a doctor may put you (or should put you) on a low fat diet. But you still need fat in your diet. A good source of natural fat comes from nuts and veggies like avocadoes. In this case, dairy products and fried foods are your worst enemy!

But you didn't mention why you were seeing a doctor ... so I'm just guessing.

Because fat is not unhealthy. Too much fat is unhealthy. But so is too much carbohydrate and too much protein. A balanced diet has fat in it.

Your Doctor probably told you to eat nuts, because he knows that you snack on foods that are loaded with sugar and trans fat. He is trying to get you to put something healthy in your body. Nuts are also a great source of protein. They will help you regulate your appetite.

Your body needs a certain amount of fat for help with cushioning, hormone levels, energy stores, etc.

The fats in nuts and seeds are actually good for you, called Omega3 or Omega6. These fats act very differently in the body compared to the trans or hydrogenatred fats that are found in a McDonalds meal.

Even a little butter in moderation, is much better for you than french fries, McDonalds, or commercial brand potato chips or cookies, for example.

Hope this helps.

Too much fat is unhealthy, but everyone needs some in order for your body to function properly. Nuts contain natural, heart-healthy fats and are also a good source of protein.

Saturated fats are unhealthy. Nuts have natural unsaturated fat. Your body needs fat to absorb Vitamin A, D and E. They are also high in protein. So nuts are actually a good nutrition balance.

Not all fat is "bad" & nuts also provide proteins along with their natural oils (the fat part), both useful for effective energy needs. But, same as anything...eat a whole jar of peanuts--not so good..eat a handful of almonds--not so bad...moderation is key--using the bod, essential--balance of diet materials, just plain healthful. By the way, as far as nuts go...raw is best...heat destroys/changes many nutrients & alters absorption capabilities.

the kind of fat in nuts is a healthy natural fat and have protein, there's also a lot of natural fat in avocados and olives. You're doctor knows what he's talking about, there's nothing wrong with nuts

Just like cholesterol there is good fat and bad fat. Nuts have the good fat to help you reach ideal weight and helps prevent wrinklles, heart attacks and strokes. On the other hand, lard is so bad for health, that a deroagatory name uses it--lard *** (vulgar term for buttocks). See my nickname. There are ginkgo nuts.

There are different kinds of fat. Saturated fat and Trans fat are horrable for you. Trans fat you actually aren't supposed to eat at all, while you can eat saturated fat in moderation. Polyunsaturated fat, and Monunsaturated fat is good fat. Polyunsaturated fat lowers both the good and bad cholesterol in your body. Monounsaturated fat lowers the bad cholesterol in your body only, by actually removing it from your viens. You are actually supposed to eat Monounsaturated fat. It is good for you. That is why olive oil is good for you, it has 10 grams of Monounsaturated fat per serving out of the 14 grams of fat per serving. Perhaps nuts have Monounsaturated fat in them. Plus eating a handful of nuts a day actually helps you loose weight for some reason. Notice I only said a handful....

Who said fat is unhealthy? These days they are saying that certain fats, the ones that solidify at room temp or when refrigerated are unhealthy. Sugar-loaded carbs are more the problem these days, especially for people carrying too many pounds already.
