I'm amazed that De La Hoya made it past Mayorga. I was stunned. But regardless...

There's no way in HELL that De La Hoya could beat Mayweather. He's smart to dodge the fight.

But to answer your question, YES, Oscar is definitely dodging a fight that he can't win.

I wouldn't exactly call someone a chump for not fighting with an injury. In fact, scheduling another fight before you're healed is something I would consider pretty stupid. Then someone can get hurt in the ring more, and it gives the sport a bad name.

Personally, I think Oscar De la Hoya does have a chance of beating Mayweather, and I'm very disappointed I won't get to see it happen. De la Hoya's always gone out of his way to fight the best and biggest name fighters around, and he's almost always won. Mayweather's great, but if Judah was able to hurt him then Oscar definitely stands a chance. All I really know is that it would be a great fight. Both fighters would have to give everything they have, but it's just too disappointing to keep talking about a fight I won't get to see....

Knows he's gonna lose? Probably. But does that make him a chump for not taking a fight he knows he can't win? Not necessarily. Mayweather is the best, and De La Hoya won't prove anything by losing to him. If he did take the fight, people would most likely accuse him of doing it strictly for the money.

I agree that Mayweather very well may be the best right now and it's a shame that we don't get any marquee fight's anymore like we used to. De la Hoya is a good fighter and he should fight Mayweather but I guess he may be done with boxing. Boy I sure miss the days when Hagler was fighting Hearns and Duran and when Hearns was fighting Leonard etc when boxing was so much better than now! Hopkins is still good but I think he is nearing the end of the line and as far as heavyweights? Forget it! I like Winky Wright pretty good but I don't think we have any what I would call legendary fighters out there anymore. Hagler, Leonard, Hearns or Duran would have tore any of these guys apart as far as I am concerned.

Now I'm pissed off I dont know who you seen Mayweather fight but he has been treated like a baby sense he started boxing fighting over the hill fighter So what he beat Gatti , Mitchell,Judah,Manfredy just to name a fews guys that should have retire a long time ago . I bet If i told him I was a boxer he would get me a world ranking and fight me to .See that the type of fighter he is he takes the easy rode anyone can be pound for pound champ if the are picking there fights .That's like if i was in H.S. beating up guys in Pre-K who give a F*** they are not in your class .Man Mayweather may can Whip My A** but he is a SoRRY fighter cause he runs from the hard fights and I cant an wont respect that .He's another Roy Jones everyone thinks he's great till the guy he thought was a scrub whips his A**. F*** mayweather fight some one good and stop fighting these no talent guys!@!!!!

I think that Oscar MIGHT have a chance at beating Mayweather if he were to fight him. I only say this because Zab Judha gave Mayweather a hard time in the earlier rounds. However, Oscar might be thinking that he doesn't want to lose to Mayweather (or any other boxer for that matter) at the end of his career. He may want to go out on a high note.

De La Hoya him self said if he fights May weather now that he will lose he is not denying it that's why he wants to wait until next year so he can train for the fight the way he is suppose to train and still even when he fights him he still might lose and he knows that and that's another reason maybe come next year after he sees Mayweather fight he can study him more.

Winky Wright is the best pound-for-pound. De La Hoya is smart to duck Mayweather. Mayweather would slaughter him.
