"Intelligent design" is a meaningless term and it has nothing to do with the biblical God.

Many atheists, including Einstein, used the term. And, they did not use it to mean that a God of any kind existed or "created" the universe.

Einstein also used the word "God," but he did not use the term to mean "Supreme Being" or God of the bible. He used it in reference to the orderliness of the universe.

The answer is "no."

One of the weaknesses in Intelligent Design as a prop for Creationism is that even if a design implies a designer, there is no reason for the designer to be a god rather than a technologically advanced alien or even a time-traveling human. Even if the designer is a god, there is no reason it must be a monotheistic god or even the Christian God.

In fact, as any Christian can verify by flipping the Bible open to the beginning of Genesis, design actually plays little to no part in the Biblical story. The Bible does not protray God as meticulously drafting and then sculpting bodies for lions, tigers and bears. Instead, the Biblical God simply commands the earth to bring forth life. This is far more compatible with evolutionary theory than with the so-called Intelligent Design.

If science proved Intelligent Design, I'd look at the evidence given and make a decision for myself. I'm not going to believe something just because science says it. However, scientific evidence leans more towards Evolution/Big Bang as the origins of the universe and life.

"sigh" and again I say: This is the classic atheistic response. Yet it feels more like an attempt to avoid actually having to delve into the matter. Isn't science predicated upon the cyclical process of hypothesis? That is to say an assumption is made, a test is executed, the results are recorded and the theorem either evolves or is dispelled. It seems atheism only gets as far as the hypothesis as to the notion of God's existence yet provides no qualitative data to either prove or disprove His existence. Furthermore, isn't one of the tenants of true science to explore ALL possibilities? Why is it that science stubbornly refuses to explore the idea of God? I know that the classic argument is that Darwinism, evolution, quantum physic, astrophysics and even more recently string theory, all provide various facets of the anti-God argument. Yet none of these theories explain how the complex amalgamation of matter/anti-matter/dark matter and void that is the universe came into being through random happenstance. The probability of which defies mathematical computation. Science focuses on the trunk, branches and leaves of the tree but because it can neither see the roots nor test for them, it refutes that the roots even exist. If the premise of science is to discover truth, then why not attempt to discover the truth about God. Lastly, science, by its very nature, can not have any belief; only facts. Therefore what I am asking is for the facts that you have that provide irrefutable proof of God’s non-existence not your beliefs.

I will always believe in a higher power of some sort. Could intelligent design reincarnate people into new bodies and lives? Because that is real. If you could fit that in your theory, then Id be convinced.

It won't, because gods and science are seperate realms that cannot coexist. Gods are illogical (although possibly existant) and science can only prove or disprove that which is inside the realm of logic. Be thankful that Science can neither prove nor disprove I.D.

However, in the case that it somehow proved it, then yes, I would.

If extraterrestrials landed on Earth and conducted a Peaceful meeting, would you stop beleiving in god?

In answer, I really doubt anyone is going to prove what happened before recorded history in my lifetime. Give me another proof for god.

I choose not to waste anytime caring about information that cannot be obtained. This creation/evolution/big bang quarrel between the church and science is just nonsense.

Yes, and while they are working on that-
lets all remember that Intelligent Design is not a creationist theory-it came from scientist-evolutionist to be exact.
Creationist like the idea-but it has a long way to go yet-but a step in the right direction.

I can't speak for atheists, but an agnostic probably would... If science proved without a reasonable doubt that God does not exist, would those who believe stop believing???

Yes.

However science points in completely the opposite direction.

And as you are probably aware ID does not prove god. Advanced aliens also could have been responsible, or invisible leprachauns.
