Some atheist was trying to convince me that all positions are equally unscientific. I replied to him that some statements are testable by experiment and those statements are scientific while others are untestable by experiment and those are unscientific. He replied that I am no fun. Is science boring for atheists?

While I do Not see science as "infallible" or "perfect".....

I enjoy science more cuz it is always evolving, so to speak. :-) There are so much to learn, and sometimes what I learn within science I can apply to my life and my life actually improves cuz of it. :-)

Science changes because it is willing to give up false ideas and take up true ones. The Bible remains the same because Christians and Jews refuse to edit it even when its statements are shown to be blatantly false (the Old Testament says that the Earth is a FLAT disc, like a quarter, for your information. It was scientists who proved that the Earth was round. Now Jews and Christians pretend that the Bible never said that, even though the text is still there. Likewise, science has shown that the order of things appearing in the Universe and on the Earth is quite different from the order given in Genesis (which ludicrously claims that the Earth was around before the Sun and stars, which was hardly the case, and puts day and night before the creation of the Sun and Moon, which is impossible.) Scientists are not afraid to abandon ideas that have been shown by experiment and evidence to be wrong. Only believers cling to lies and errors as if their lives depended on them.

I like science because when it has no answer it will say we don't have an answer. If it sees its wrong it updates and changes. Religion on other hand can't say they are wrong, can't get updated, and ppl from religions can't even use a simple calculator. When i go to the store and they have to give me back change 3 $ i prefer 3$ instead some1 will count 1+1+1=1
No, thank you , i want 3 $ not 1$ and i don't need to debate with cachier that 3$ is in One.
Therefore GOD exists.

The nature of Science demands change with collection of new evidence. A constant check-recheck process always involves change.

Quite the contrary, the best thing about Science is it's change, as this is a good indication of the reliability of the method.

Uh...isn't atheism for scientists anyway? I mean...science is what proves that the bible is full of crap. Darwin was a scientist! I would well imagine that to discover that we evolved and were not made out of clay prooves that your a bit of an athiest, right? Science only changes in the effect that it gets better!!! Theory is nothing without the evidence to back it up!

i think some things are more likely than others and that some things are so likely that to disbelieve them is nonsensical for the time being

let's assume you perform 10,000 expeirments and they confirm a fact, then later an exception is found to the rule or law, the rule or law must be changed

but for practical purposes we must often deal with what is more believable than not by weighing evidence

i fail to see why someone's religous belief should matter in this question, science by definition does not concern itself with the supernatural, only the natural

Well, because they're always changing, scientists call their findings theories. That's the difference between those of the rational, and those of the religious persuasion, who refer to their beliefs as "truths". They will not change what they believe, no matter how much common sense and scientific progress dictates they are wrong.

depends on the particular interest of the atheist. i myself am drawn more towards sociology and anthropology, rather then to any other scientific discipline. so i find most others a bit boring.

yeah i was going to say hes got a point that no theory is the absolute truth or even a law its just a best explanation based on the facts but the thing you just said about testability its food for thought thanks

Atheists are just people who don't believe in God. That doesn't mean they know anything about science.
