I have visited the Holocaust Museum several times. The display is sort of a walking chronological tour of the Holocaust and World War II. The top floor focuses on anti-semitism and the rise of Nazism, the next floor on the "Final Solution" and ends with survivors talking about their experiences in concentration camps.

It's very powerful. I would agree that you want to spend at least 3 to 4 hours walking through.

Important: Tickets are timed for throughout the day. If you get there before the museum opens, you can usually get in on the first or second tour. You can also get tickets for the next day or tickets on-line. The tickets are free, but required.

ABSOLUTELY powerful. Make yourself at the very least a long afternoon to see it, and give yourself some time afterwards so it can soak in. Plan to have a good dinner and distraction if you will need it in the evening, but give yourself some down-time between the museum and whatever next activity you have. it is truly awesome, not teenage "cool" awesome, but i mean full of awe. You will never forget what you see there.

To moving for words. I have visited some of the worlds best museums and this is the only one that made me almost cry. It should only take one day.
