I have seen a few whackos in every organization, but it seems to me that the Minutemen have brought this issue to light and now they are taking all the "heat" for "not being nice to the (politically correct term here) undocumented imigrants...otherwise known as the illegals.

The Minutemen are a tremendous asset to our border patrol. For the UNINFORMED, the minutemen have saved MANY lives by rescuing illegals from.death on the desert. But NO, you pro illegals do not want to talk about that. All you want to state is that they are stopping illegals from crossing the border.
I believe that the Minutemen should get a federal grant to subsidize their efforts. After all, our politicians are doing absolutely NOTHING!

The Minutemen are not exactly The Jaycees! The Minutemen are exactly that - MEN; it is the nature of all human beings to lose the focus in a cause along the way; the motivation of these guys is no different than that of the radical KKK; they just took their bedclothes off. It has nothing to do with political correctness. The Inquisitors of the Christian Religion killed more people than the 2 world wars. This in the name of Religion. The Minutemen will change their focus sooner or later and become as disoriented as the Inquisitors and the KKK against our black brothers because they too are flawed humans. Now it is the turn of the Minutemen against the Mexicans, illegal or not. I think Pat Buchanan is their leader (or Pat Robertson). As for the media, depends what network you are watching. They are the most evil of all. Humans are no different from scorpions. It is their nature to sting. The Minutemen are the homegrown terrorists; we are really in trouble at the airports now!

Well, here in Arizona the minutemen are well liked and respected. (by legal Americans). I do see what you are saying though. Do some research here. You will find that many ignorant people are referring to them as "minuteclan". These same people claim to "educate" people here. The people in this forum cannot provide one single shred of information that any harm has come to anyone as a result of the courageous minutemen. The minutemen are a perfect example of what it means to be an American.

Well.......I don't see too many articles condemning Minutemen AT ALL.
I....and it is just ME (and this is a Q and A) feel that anybody who forms a group that targets one specific type of person or race is wrong.
I watched a special on MSNBC that highlighted the Minutemen and their opposition. I didn't hate the ideology......I just can't past forming a group with a "specific target in mind and the target is a human being". I also wasn't too impressed with Jim Gilchrist

That's just the media pandering to the liberal fan base who believes that all illegal immigrants are here to get jobs, earn money, and start a family.
They should be able to, and they can do so legally.
Why would someone come to the country illegally when they could do so legally? There are a few possibilities:
They don't want a paper trail. This means that they're here for good purposes, of course (roll eyes).
They don't want to expend the effort of being here legally. Idiots - you're supposed to become lazy, overfed Americans AFTER you become citizens!
They're here for illicit purposes, such as (gasp!) to commit crimes!
And for the record, if a Mexican immigrant steals a car and goes back to Mexico, Mexico will send him back to stand trial here. If, however, he kills the owner of the car and goes back to Mexico, he will not be sent back to stand trial in the United States.
Also for the record, if an American goes down to Mexico and becomes a citizen legally down there, he or she will be denied many basic rights that even illegal aliens enjoy in the United States. It's all in the Mexican Constitution - he or she cannot hold public office (we deny only 2 government positions to non-natural-born citizens, President and Vice-President), and a whole lot of other things.

the illegals and their supporters use the "race" card for everything. i for one am tired of hearing it. the minutemen are AMERICAN HEROS and deserve much more respect than they're getting. some day you will realize what you're doing.
remember vietnam, the veterans would come back and hippies would spit on them, but they were just fighting for YOUR freedom. they didn't deserve that.
it's the same thing now, except the minutemen are the soldiers, and the illegals and their supporters are the hippies. when this is all over, and all the illegals are deported, you will realize that they were SAVING the country, and you all will realize that you are stupid and the minutemen are HEROS!

I haven't seen anything against them lately except comments on this board. However, it is the way the government treats what they are doing that bothers me. Look at this article from last year about the Border Patrol being told not to enforce against illegal immigrants when the Minutemen were patrolling, so they wouldn't look effective. http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050513-122032-5055r.htm

And don't you just love all those poor stories. We have thousand here with poor stories-why are they not showed? They even made our poor get out of the camera's way in Chicago when they were having the hungry strike. Would not let them near-on streets they have been living on for some time.
It is Bullying tactics of our News bought and paid for by our crooked Government.

Trust me the media is doing everything in its power to make them appear as racists.
I live in a border town in Texas....When they came here they were NOT welcomed by the media or the city government or the people.
I felt sorry for them. I understand what they are trying to do.
They were really perceived as racists.

I can agree with you but war at home no one wants. There needs to be a more effective way. Stop writing Spanish on every thing so they will learn English. Their Dollars are important to our Merchants. but when they start loosing their Windows and paying Costumers they will see the dollars go out the window. and they will think they are in Mexico.
