Mine has to be my 21st b/d. My mom surpised me by coming to my apartment while I was at work and cooking all of my favorite foods for my b/d. When I came home from work she was waiting in the kitchen for me with this huge meal. It was the best b/d ever to me.

At Christmas, her and I would go into the country to steal a Christmas tree. We would cut them out of somebody's field. One year, we almost got caught and hid in a ditch until the cop left. We even cut a tree for our church. We were both small people so it was just a riot trying to get the thing home!

It was at my wedding shower. My Mother was very straight lace kind of woman. Prime and proper to a tee. I was in the middle of opening gifts, when the hostess handed me a beautifully wrapped package, and said this one is from your Mother. I was a little surprised because my parents had given me and my husband to be, money, already. But excited about another gift , I torn in to it to find the sexiest baby doll pajama's and a short matching see thru robe. I was a little embarrassed at first. All the other guest were giving me the business. I remember looking over at Mom, and she winked at me, and said this is what makes a marriage happy and healthy. Until that moment, like so many other people in the world, I would of swore my Mother was a virgin. I realized then, we were both women now, and that is how she was telling me the birds and the bee's story.

My funniest one is when she was shopping at this boutique and this clerk would not leave her alone. Mom didn't like any of the dresses she tried on, but the clerk wouldn't hear of it. Mom said she would try back the next week, but the clerk insisted on holding SOME of the clothes back for her for when she returned. She kept insisting. Mom finally said "OK". The clerk (who was VERY VERY VERY new there) asked for her name and Mom replied with the straightest face "MARGO". (And her name is no where NEAR Margo". I looked at her with a puzzled face and she gave me the "Don't say a word or you will die in the spot you are in" look. 30 years later, I still call her Margo at times.

Another one is when my last child was born. She was 70 years old. I invited her to be in the room when he was born. She was glad to be there, but is very respectful of OUR family unit. (ALmost too much, LOL). So she's standing in the far back of the suite, watching from the bench/dinner table. She is dressed to the nines (VERY VERY VERY nicely). So this nurse says "COME HERE!" to her. She shuffles over and then the nurse handed her my left leg (thigh) to hold back. I thought my mother was going to die. My husband to my right, my mom on my left and she was NOT prepared for that. She was 70 years old and had never seen a child being delivered before, not even her own. It was more fun watching her than taking those dang breaths.

Wow, that's a tough question. My mom passed away, and I can't just think of one favorite memory.

To be honest, my mum and I have never really been too close... but I have great memories of my dad giving me, my sister and my brother 'monster kisses'... he would let his stubble grow a bit, and then rub his bristles on our necks, whilst we squealed with fits of giggles.... :)
