they would have to agree to repay all those they have victimized (identity theft, car accidents they were uninsured for, ect), as well as repay hospitials and doctors for services received...and pay their share of public taxes for use of schools, fire departments, police departments...you get the drift....How much, beyond restitution, would be fair in order for them to be allowed to stay?

They can't do it. It costs $18,000 to educate one child for one year in California. Do the math. We subsidize the poor, and only let in the amount of poor we are willing to subsidize. Every penny spent on someone above the amount let in legally was stolen from those who subsidize those services. It is not just a matter of 'what if they paid taxes appropriate to their income group' since the point is that services for that income group are mostly paid for by others, which is why we limit the number that can come in.

That is why it is such a problem.

You're making a whole bunch of assumptions that are flat out false and won't happen.

Pay for services? Taxes?
Renters don't pay taxes for schools-- most illegals probably rent so even if they WERE legal they wouldn't pay anyway.
Some illegals are probably poor and no health insurance- so they would likely get assitance or be treated by emergency/doctors anyway (same even if they were legal).

Alot fot he stuff you mentioned are also done by legals and citizens.

Hey, maybe you should just stop using illegals for your yard work, stop going to fast food places, get rid of your housekeeper, etc. etc.

I don't support illegal immigration, but what you suggest is simply not feasible. They wouldn't be here illegally if they had money, so you're not going to get any.

Entering the country illegally is entering the country illegally. Period. Should they pay restitution for everything they've taken advantage of while here? Hell, yes. Should they pay fines for being caught here illegally? Once again, yes. Should they be banned from ever entering the country legally? Yep.

Mexicans are so quick to say they have a right to enter our country illegally. Is the same true of their southern border?

I personally don't like people breaking into my house. The same holds true for my country. My ancestors entered legally. They can do the same.

I would say that if they did that, they should be allowed to go back home and then apply for a visa the same as everyone else.
By coming over here illegally, they show disrespect for the American legal system and even more so to the other foreigners who are doing it the right way.

Well, the probablility of them being able to repay anything is highly unlikely. But it's really not any different than all of the other americans who rip everyone off daily. Personally, it just doesn't really matter to me. I think they should go through things legally like all the millions of other immigrants.

A lot of "illegals" DO pay...they pay for all those things, taxes, medical bills, etc. You're making a large assumption that none of them do.

I don't believe they would every re-pay anything. There are so many illegals that believe they are owed everything they receive.

we're not going to agree, no matter what those thieves promise. they're not going to admit to what they've done either. they're criminals, and should be treated as such. nothing would be fair for them to stay. if they want to be here, go back to mexico and wait your turn. we're not going to reward you for being a criminal. burn in hell.
