If after we die we are going to live again in a "future life" then why would there be a heaven?

That's why reincarnation is not a part of Christianity. There's no reason to be a Christian if you believe in reincarnation, because then there's nothing for Jesus to save you from. As a Buddhist, I believe in reincarnation.

Its a staging point. Where we take a look at our eternal destiny and going through life or lives, is all a learning experience. When we die and reach Heaven we go over what we learned and what we want to learn more about. So don't worry about going to Heaven we all do. It is there where we are judged on our works done down here, both good and bad. God's counsel is all wisdom and wants you to do good. If you fail you work out how to counter act what you just did and work to correct it, or you decide in Heaven that you need further help there before continuing on.

Dear Forever Lost,

I probably will not be able to answer your question with the space alotted, however, may I ask you where you get the impression that man has had past lives? If you hold to that belief, I assume that you have some association with eastern mysticism.
In reality, man is born once and will die physically at some point in time. Unknown to most people though, is that man has a spirit which is eternal in character (ie. will never be extinguished). We refer to that spirit as his soul. The soul is eternal in character. When we are born, we are physically alive but spiritually dead (dead in sins and trespasses; Ephesians 2:1). If we continue in this condition, we will eventually die (physically). But in addition to physical death, we will also face eternal death (damnation) under the wrath of God. This is because the Lord is holy, righteous, and perfect and cannot allow sin to enter heaven. This will be the sentence for all mankind unless we can have someone to take our place and spend eternity under the wrath of God Almighty. The only One who can take your place is the God-Man, Jesus Christ. You cannot do anything for this transaction to occur. If it is God;s will that you are saved, be assured-it will happen because God is Sovereign. The environment that you can place your self in is under the hearing of God's word. "So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God". If the Lord does save you, then you will live forever and never die!! Maybe you are only reincarnated until you finally get it right and do things the way you should really be doing it. Then once you get it right and live the life you were meant to live or the life the is "accepted" then you can get into heaven.

I'm not positive about the past and future life thing, but I do believe we come this way more than once. I believe that God wants our soul to gain a certain knowledge before we go to heaven and stay. I believe it takes more that one lifetime for us to accomplish that. I don't believe we just keep being sent here over and over and over with no end. And I don't believe we come back as an animal or anything. God said he made man in His image, which, to me means the soul. Therefore for as long as He keeps sending us back here, He will continue to send us a human being.

There are many ways people believe in reincarnation. Some believe there is no heaven. Others believe that you can be reincarnated many times, until you reach the top than you can get to heaven. You could try searching for Hinduism because they believe in reincarnation. It is probably the most popular religion that deals with reincarnation. Buddists also believe in reincarnation. As salaamu 'alaikym, my chum. Insha'Allah, between the wonderful factors of Islam, and one that seems to for sure reveal the awareness of the comparable, is that for the time of Islam, there is not any longer meant to be very much of theological debate or hypothesis. Insha'Allah, we settle for what has been revealed to us whether we don't have a acceptable or finished awareness of the comparable. Insh'Allah, "Heaven", as revealed interior the Holy Qur'an, is the advantages of a paradise that could be the success of all of needs and needs in a backyard like placing, the place we can stay for ever with Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, if He so judges us as being between the righteous in accord along with his superb Judgment in keeping with our deeds or lack there of and His Mercy. That's all a matter of opinion. I personally believe that the life you are living now is your only one. The point of Heaven, as stated in The Bible, is so you can be forever together with your lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

How can a person reach a truthful conclusion when they begin with a faulty assumption? There is no scientific or biblical basis for "past lives".

Although it is outside of the realm of scientific knowledge, "future life" is clearly taught in the Bible, though a picture is not presented. God wants us to exercise faith that begins with Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross.

People who believe in past lives don't believe in heaven and hell, because past lives have to do with reincarnation. And if there is someone out there who believes in past lives AND heaven and hell, then there are just a big fat hippocrite.

Because when we go to Heaven, we figure out just exactly what and how our future life has in store for us and the obstacles that we will face. It's being "Prepared" for the next one and "deciding" what we want in the "next" life.
