It is good that the US dollar is lower in value, because it means the US will export more. Brits come to NYC and Miami for Christmas shopping because it is cheaper than shopping in the UK. It is not good for Canada to have a higher dollar because it means factory jobs that were moved to Canada from the US will likely move back to the US because it would be cheaper. British pound is intentionally higher, if the US didn't let the dollar float freely, it could easily make the dollar worth more than the pound. The pound is higher because it is the last thing the UK has to make it unique in the world. There debt percentage wise is higher than the US debt.
