Yes marines take oaths, and are not menat ot be like this. Yes Marines SHOULD be ashamed by this. This perpetuates the image of marines are brainless thugs.
Of course the morons say "this is war" yeah sure its war. Does this mean trained soldiers representing their country should act like animals?
This is war..what a lame exscuse, an easy way to justify attrocities. When the nazi's gassed jews, cut up pregnant women etc. was that just war also? When they had mass rape camps in kosovo or in the current sudan conflict was that just war? Was the Japanese torture of their prisoners...durign WII was that "just war"..?
Man people who say "its just war" need to be slapped.

There have been US soldiers who murdered civilians and committed other crimes in every US army in every war. Until now, the US media used to support this country, and would not consider this headline news.
But since they neither support this country, the Constitution or our military, they run with it. And Democrats and liberals leap with joy.
The Marines are not terrorists, and the official who said that should be shot through the kneecaps. Self-righteous ******.
And, the Haditha is looking like a false accusation - the insurgents were using women and children as shields.

Being retired military I believe the Marine Corps should not be ashamed. Unfortunately, the American military is held to a higher standard than the rest of society and what 1 member does reflects on all others, especially in time of conflict in foreigh countries.
If the investigation has found significant cause to bring charges then they should be charged. Having done some investigations while I was in and knowing what it entails they would not profer charges without substantial proof. Although these guys could have been shot at (and one of their comrades was KIA) apparently things got out of hand and they may have done something they shouldn't have in an effort to get the bad guys. Collateral damage isn't acceptable in this situation.

May I ask a question?
Do you want to win this war, or do you want to stuff some more American body bags?
I spent 22 years of my life wearing a US Military uniform to protect the right of every American to be a fool, un-American, and an enemy sympathizer. I am glad to see my life was not wasted.
Have you ever heard the term, "War is Hell"? To all who believe it, I would invite you to 10 minutes of actual combat. The left wing of American politics endorsed this war with no more than 3 or 4 exceptions. We sent our military into harms way, a job they are paid and trained to do. Then as an after thought we say, "oh, by the way, don't hurt anybody". This is a war against combatants, not an established military. Our enemy, as in Viet Nam, does not wear a uniform. They are rag-tag and operate from homes and business, not military bases. So we can fight this thing or go home. A position most of the left would adopt in a second. Of course, these are the same cowards that ran to Canada in the 60's and who were pardoned in the late 70's.
Folks I hate to break the news to you but there are people out there that hate us. Whether you are like me, well to the right of Genghis Khan, or like the others who reside well to the left of Carl Marx, they want us dead. They don't want us off their land, they want us dead. They don't want us out of their politics, they want us dead. Does everyone understand "DEAD".
America is a super power and I for one am not ashamed of it. We have, by default, been left with the job of policing the World. I really hate that, but it is a fact. If we don't rise to these challenges some little pot bellied dictator will drop a nuke on us, or maybe instead of 4 planes, their will be 400 or 4000. Did I say, they aren't interested in conquering us, they aren't interested in converting us, they still want us dead.
Right now some very fine men and women, the best we have, not the scum in the projects or the drug dealers in your kid's school, but the very cream of the crop have their collective posteriors hanging out trying to protect us. And what do they get, a black eye every time anything happens.
As far as I am concerned, I would never consider a career in the military in this day and age for myself, and I would do anything I could to talk anyone out of it. This country doesn't deserve to continue. Too many people without a spine and who believe appeasement will fix everything. Just like Russia and Hitler in the second world war.
It is just a damn dirty shame that Clinton isn't President, If that were the case about 99.97% of the country would be supporting the President, the Country and the Troops. As it is a seething blind hatred for our President is all about half of the country can see, and as a result, they stand opposed to anything at all that he has anything to do with.

One has to consider the sourse of this “news”. This is the same sourse that anounsed numerous times that Rowe was going to be indited by the special prosicutor for “leak” the name of a “under cover agent”. Never Happened! This is the same sourse that leaked the news about Bush military records. Never Happened. Now the same sourse says the the Marine Corp is going to release the news – NOT. The Marine Corp does not have a say in releasing the report, since the report is being reveiwed and handled by a US Army General. Here we go again…..I guess it all depends on your definition of “is”.

Until the whole story comes out I defer judgement. If these guys are found not guilty, we won't hear about it.
We have had no information regarding stories of lives that have been saved, or civilians rescued. Only things like this. the American media has become the Paparazi. Like I said when I hear the whole story I will make a judgement.

Why would the marines be proud that some of their guys commited murder?
I am proud however that we actually investigate and charge marines with wrong doing, which not all countries would do.
Those marines do deserve to be charged, i want to join the marines one day and i do not want to fight along side guys that purposefully kill innnocent people. War is stressful but we cant allow ourselves to sink to that level.

Those Marines are not allowed to go home on a regular basis. They are stuck in an area where women and children are taught to kill them. How can you possibly know who is friend or foe? Kids throwing rocks at their vehicles and being lookouts. Thats some crap(S...) They need psychological help after being in a war zone for so long. And need to be sent home for a while to be around people who love them and to be around women and children who aren't out throwing rocks at them.

Hey, gimpalong, be careful man. Tell you what, I agree with you totally with about 95% you had to say. Well done, and well delivered. The thing about the country not deserving to continue? You know better than that Master Sergeant. We've seen the sights and smelled the smells. We know what its about. Civilians whine..we get it done. Am I right? Exactly.
