Trying to restore the system when the Windows program is running full-bore often causes the pc to freeze up and not restore anything. A better way to restore the system is to reboot, and tap the F8 function key as the pc is booting up, to boot into Windows "Safe Mode". Once there, try the system restore again. Quite often that'll do the trick.
Good luck.

normally this happens when you have restored mutiple times in a row. Your subsequent "restores" have overwritten the files you need to restore to an earlier date. I think you are out of luck dude.

First, make sure your trying bold numbered dates. Second, If the one you choose does not work keep going backwards to other bold numbers till it will restore. Good luck!

I will add this on.....Restoring will not effect any of your personal files. It only effects system files. If you have recently saved an excel file or some pics (.jpgs or whatever) you will not lose those files.
