I have finally terminated a ugly 17 year relationship with my former girlfriend, who during that time gave birth to our 3 sons. She has now placed a bogus restraining order keeping me from our children and my home. We go to court in aprox 1 month on the restraing order and the attached issues of child custody and support issues. What are her rights to the property I as a single man purchased and presently am paying morgage on. After dealing with her long and current dependency on illegal drugs and legal matters that go along with them I finally had a enough. We now both have domestic violence on our records. It didn't help that for a brief time I turned to acohol as a way of coping. I took on most of the responsibilities of a married man but I always made it clear that I did not and was not going to marry her with all these ixisting problems that never seemed to go away. HOW LONG CAN SHE KEEP ME AWAY FROM MY OWN PROPERTY? IS SHE LEGALLY INTITLED TO ANY OF IT?

How did she get a restraining order on YOUR property? Is it in her name, too? you need to go to court, with a very good attorney, and pead your case. Also, gather some people who will character witness for you, preferably ones that know her, and can testify that she is a bad ______ (fill in the blank) also, ask your boss if he or she will testify to your steadiness as a provider for these kids. Are you planning to seek custody? You will have to have a very strong case! MAKE IT CLEAR to the judge--- you want nothing more to do with her, except for the kids. Maybe then he will drop the restraining order. ALWAYS have a witness when you p/u the kids for visits, if you get that back. That way she can't say you tried to do something, unless you did, and then you need to be kept away. Good luck, man.

Sorry sucker you should never had allowed her to put your address on her drivers liscense. That alone allows her to post residence on that property. If I were you I would fight for the kids. That is the only way you will get your home back, if you need to provide shelter for your kids and have custody. Otherwise it's hers. You left. She didn't. Courts say she stayed and continued to provide for her kids. Until the littlest one is eighteen she can continue to reside there legally.

it sounds like you're more worried about a house and not your own kids. you said she was doing drugs and yet you're still more worried about a house instead of the kids who are staying with a drug addict. wooow i'm glad my parents are not like you.
