The "Black Room" as you say is actually called the Kaaba. People don't actually go in it though. They just circumambulate, i.e. walk all the way around it several times. Anciently, before the advent of Islam, it contained Idols, but with the arrival of Mohammed, all of them were smashed. He declared it as the house of God, which is symbolic, of course. People don't really go in it anymore. Good question.

The Kaaba is the holiest place in Islam. Entrance to the inside of the Kaaba is gained through a door set 2.13 meters above the ground on the north-eastern wall of the Kaaba, there is a marble floor. The interior walls are clad with marble half-way to the roof; tablets with Qur'anic inscriptions are inset in the marble. The top part of the walls is covered with a green cloth decorated with gold embroidered Qur'anic verses.

All they can see are thousands of other people breathing, sweating, and praying all around them. People are trampled to death all the time during the hajj. I doubt most of them even really get to see the black covered room without having to wait a week.

Anyway,is not what they see is the issue but the reason of going or the important of going to mecca.
To go mecca is one of the five pillar of islam, and there was a reward for it in pressence of God,if you pratice your going there very well, going there is to pray and ask for your forgiveness of your sin, going there is time to seek for favour and forgiveness.
After, your hajj ,you have to turn to new person entirely from your past doing.i think thats purpose of going to hajj.
