Look up "moving companies" on the interenet, find one near you, and call them. Fedex or UPS works if you're in a hurry but cost an arm and a leg; shipping companies are cheaper and just as reliable (but take much longer).

By ship - cheapest and safe
By post - can be cheap (depending on the cost in the US) and relatively safe
Non-accompanying luggage on a plane - quite expensive but very safe
Air frieght - most expensive and very safe

When I moved from Hong Kong to Colombia, I sent everything by special post (15 big boxes) as the taxes for shipping/air freight are very expensive in Colombia. None of my boxes were missing, but they only arrived 13 months later!!!

Depends on how much stuff you're bringing. If it's a lot, check into container rental to be shipped via cargo ship. I did this when moving from Cali to the UK to bring my vehicle. Generally your stuff will be trucked to Liverpool -> cargo ship to Boston or other large east coast city -> truck (or rail) to Long Beach or San Francisco -> then your location. It's pricey.

i WOULD SUGGEST FEDEXING THEM FOR A SPECIAL OVERNIGHT TO cALI. other wise ther really isnt any thing to do. Depending on how much money you have to spend, a whole container on a 747 jumbo cargo plane costs about 1,00 USD to rent ( for the plane. Then they would deliver the parcels to the door or you could pick them up at the airport.

UPS also ships internationally and may be cheaper then FEDEX.
