I'm just wondering...I am not being disrespectful or unkind about any person, religion, or culture. I had never thought about it till the other week when someone said we are all God's children.
If jesus is God's child, why is he special? Why aren't we all equal?

We are all God's children so was Jesus, but not as special as man has made him. He was the first to have the power of healing; something in those days was unheard of. He had the power to heal that was so strong people believed he was performing miracles when he brought back the dead, but not even Jesus could do that. Just think in those days if you were in a coma how would it look to others? dead right, not so, and if your not dead then you can be healed, and this is why Jesus is so special, he was also special because he was the first to speak out and tell us of God and he told the truth about him, and not lies like the other religions that were about, even now the lies continue throughout the bible, and all the other religious books written by man.
Jesus wanted all this recorded, but it was left to man, and as man has proved over the years, and proved to Jesus man can't be trusted.
The bible was supposed to tell about God and his teachings, but it's been twisted so man can kill and profit in God's name.
It doesn’t matter what name you give God there is only one, and he would not want man to behave this way, and that’s why we have lost our way, and why so many bad things happen to us, but then what happens people blame God, and ask why does he not help us, why should he.
Jesus came to help us and look what we done to him.
I hope this explains why Jesus is special, remember have faith in God not a book written by man.

Though our heavenly Father loves every person, not all are His children. That is a privilege that comes with accepting Jesus Christ as Lord.
Jesus is special because He gave His life so that we could be called children of God and receive all the blessings he has reserved for every child of His.
No creation is ever equal to it's creator.
These are overly-simplified answers, but it would take a whole lot of space to answer these in full.

Jesus is not special in the way that we consider special to be. Meaning we as humans consider special as set above and apart. Jesus is special becuase he wasn't of the norm. He posessed the supernatural. In fact Jesus was proven to be human just like you and me. Ex. he was a carpenter; when he was in the desert he was tormented by the devil. We are the same; we work and the devil tries every way that he knows how to stray us away from our purpose.The reason why Jesus is not of the norm is because he did something that our minds and bodies would not do if given the chance. We as christians give him honor and praise because he went through more than we would ever go through and still did his purpose. Just like us Jesus had a purpose. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is one. When you love one; you love the other.

Jesus is special because he gave up his life for us and took away all of our sins for a fresh start =P and we are all special to god. Try attracting an angel and asking a question this is all you need to do -
Get 2 Green Candles
Get a piece of Paper and a Pen
then.... Light the candles and put the paper in the middle (dont set it on fire lol!) and put the pen on top - turn out all the lights and if you see a flash in the room dont worry its your guardian angel and say - If we are all gods children why is jesus so special and guess wot - the angel will write it down on a piece of paper! honestly im not into spiritual work myself but hey i used to do witchcraft. Like when i was 2 my mum fell down the stairs with me in her arms - but after she had fell and turned around i was just sitting on the stairs babbling away - how freaky!

We are not all Gods Children, But Jesus is special because he made a way for Gods Children to be in the Presence of God. God cannot look on sin or hear Sinners, so with out the Blood of Jesus, The Sacrificed Lamb, We would never be reconciled to God, for this Jesus is the Head, those of us who are Children are Members of his Body. the Body of Christ or the Body of Anointing.

We are all special, and we are all God's children, but think of Jesus as the much older brother, ya know, the one that knows how stuff works and helps out the most. He's the one that gets to babysit and knows how to make a baby bottle, a sailboat out of paper and paraffin, he's the one that can make his little brother calm down with a hand on the shoulder, he's the brother you want by your side when the bullies come.
He's not just special to God, He's special to me too :)

Because Jesus is a part of GOD. It's a confusing Trinity thing. GOD Jesus and the holy ghost. They are different people...but the same person at the same time. We can't say that. We aren't GOD at all. That's why he's special. Plus volunteered to sacrifice his life to pay for all our sins so we don't go to hell.

Well.....I think every child is special to his own parents, (or should be)
God gave us his beloved son as a gift to help the world. I'm not a practising Christian, but I would say that Jesus went through a lot of suffering, more than the average person.
I'd say he deserved to be special.
Though we are all special in God's eyes - isn't that great?

This is a fantastic question.
Anywho, the answer is: Jesus was just a person with a strong personality that happened to fall upon the idea of telling people that he is god's child. People believed him and wrote about him, which in turn created christianity.
Hope you do not mind that I plan on using this during my many arguements with the christian fundementalists that seem to constantly surround me.

1. Jesus NEVER sinned
2. We are Gods 'adopted' children because Jesus said we are Satans children if we do not love and believe in God.

Answer right in the BIble.
God creates Angels ( for what ever reason ) they rebel.
GOd is making Adam and EVE ( for what ever reason ) they screwed things up. Notice It's GOD creations by him self.
Then he realises 3th time is the charm and he has to try something else. So he pick human female and Produce only pure and sinless thing like Jesus. And he Said " it good" So since Jesus was his only Creation without a flaw he prefers jesus to others.
Therefore GOD exists.
