lighten up?

somewhere I heard if you mix peroxide and shampoo togather it will lighten your hair. How long do you leave it on, how many days does it take?

That might work depending on the percentage of the peroxide, the color of your hair, and the length of time you leave it in. It also depends on what you want it to look like. But are you gonna know what to do if your hair doesn't come out the way you want? I think you should have a professional do it or if you don't have the money, try a beauty college. I was doing color and highlights in beauty college all the time and it turned out fine. My last name is Biondo also.

Peroxide is actually not good for your hair. It can make it dry and brittle causing it to break and have fly aways (worse than dyeing your hair often). I would recommend lemon juice or just plain lightening your hair from a box or salon.


-Used peroxide when I was 16, was using rogaine at 18.
My hair was so jacked up from it.

be careful yes could lighten it but to what degree all hair is different the best thing is if you want to lighten your hair see a good stylist cause if something goes wrong with the perioxide you will probably have to pay more to fix it then if you would have had them do it in the first place.

Uh, no....

If you need to do it so cheap, put peroxide in a spray bottle and lightly spritz before going out into the sun. Lemon juice works too.
Hairdressers are your best bet, tho!

I've heard that, too, but what i heard was to comb the peroxide through your hair after you wash it and leave it in as your hair dries. do it several times a week...or whenever :-)
