The Bible is not the silver bullet, of course. I do believe in God and in Jesus's ressurection, however, there are parts of the Bible that sound like pure nonsense to me while other parts contain great, true wisdoms everyone should live by.

Well the Bible is the ultimate truth to Christians. You have already discounted it in your mind, so it means nothing to you.
Also, just for information, there have been many things that people thought was false in the bible, but have been proven true. One example is that it wasn't until the late 19th-20th century that any archeological evidence was unearthed about the Hittites. Prior to that, people thought the mention of them in the Bible was rubbish as well. The dietary laws given to the Jews in the Bible also are very well founded medically, the reasons of some of them were not discovered until the late 19th century as well.
I haven't seen where the Bible has been proved wrong. There are some things that are not provable, but for those that are able to be proved, I have no doubt that the Bible has and will be proven correct.

well, whether its true or not , is determoined by your point of view. They offer the bible, because thats all they have. You cant win an argument based on faith, so they use the text they have been told is the thruth. There is no doubt in the scientific community that the bible is an actual account according to its writers. They just cant get a second source to substantiate the claims. And its been translated and interpreted differently over the years. So its not a ROCK SOLID source, unless you accept it on faith, that is the problem of trying to argue religioon. Science is the search for fact, religion is the search for faith, and they seldom agree.

From my Christian POV maybe they should'nt always. I would like to share this "Bible story"
THE ONLY BIBLE
I once knew a guy in college named Bill. He had
wild hair, wore T-shirts with holes in them, jeans,
and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his
entire four years of college. He was brilliant, kind
of eccentric and very, very bright. This is the story
of how Bill became a Christian while attending
college. Across the street from the campus was a
well-dressed, very conservative church. They wanted to
develop a ministry to the students, but were not sure
how to go about it.
One day Bill decided to go there. He walked in with
no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The
service had already started and so Bill started down
the aisle looking for a seat. The church was
completely packed and he couldn't find a seat. By now,
people were really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no
one said anything. Bill got closer and closer and
closer to the pulpit, and when he realized there were
no seats, he just squatted down right on the carpet.
(Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college
fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this
church before!)
By now the people were really uptight, and the
tension in the air was thick. About this time, the
minister realized that from way at the back of the
church, a deacon was slowly making his way toward
Bill. Now the deacon was in his eighties, and had
silver-gray hair. He wore a three-piece suit. He was a
Godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly.
He walked with a cane and, as he started walking
towards this boy, everyone was saying to themselves
that,
"You can't blame him for what he's going to do!
That guy does not belong here. How can you expect a
man of his age and of his background to understand
some college kid on the floor?"
It took a long time for the man to reach the boy.
The church was utterly silent except for the clicking
of the man's cane. All eyes were focused on him. You
couldn't even hear anyone breathing. The minister
couldn't even preach the sermon until the deacon did
what he had to do. And then they saw this elderly man
drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he
lowered himself and sat down next to Bill and
worshiped with him so he wouldn't be alone. Everyone
choked up with emotion. When the minister gained
control, he said, "What I'm about to preach, you will
never remember. What you have just seen, you will
never forget."
Be careful how you live.
You may be the only Bible some people will ever read.

Sorry honey, but I don't fit into your "we all" category. Why do archeologists offer fossils as proof and evidence? Would you take a politician's statement at face value as absolute truth? There is solid proof of parts of the Bible in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Not all Christians only offer that, there are also archeological evidences that are out there, other history books, and discovery channel. Other evidences of God's existence are answered prayers, healings, a change life, God's presence and angel interventions but of course a non-believer wouldn't believe that because they are opposite to everything a Christian believes.

A Christian is one who has faith, faith in the Lord and the Bible. To you it may seem like a fairytale but to a Christian it's the truth. Different strokes for different folks.

Because it's easier than actual thought.
Christians don't like to think, it hurts thier head. So they resort to a childish notion that a magic sky-pixie runs thier pathetic lives.
It's just sad really.
