I get them as well.....used to anyway. Found a few things that work for me. Keep a journal of everything you eat and drink and when the migraines come. See if you notice any patterns. Other is a Axert or two...only thing that really will abort a migraine for me. Lastly I take topamax daily. With these three things I have gone for 2-3 month to 2-3 per year.

Have you tried taking a digestive enzyme supplement with your meals?

Digestive enzymes remain somewhat of a nascent field in the medical community, but they are becoming more mainstream.

The theory is that due to poor digestion, minuscule undigested particles of food work their way into the blood stream and cause a variety of chronic complaints. These "food intolerances" or "food sensitivities" could be the cause...

Although I've never had problems with migraines, I have noticed improved health in other areas (seemingly unrelated to poor digestion) since I began taking digestive enzymes.

Enzyme supplements can also be taken "systemically" which means on an empty stomach, rather than with meals, and have shown some success in treating pain and inflammation. But that's a whole other area...I'd suggest starting with a digestive supplement.

You can buy WellZymes products online as a consumer, or talk to your doc about getting products with higher levels of activity.

Good luck - hope this helps!

Suffered since childhood and still do: First off, see a neurologist if the headaches come often. Neurologists can prescribe preventative drugs and ameliorative meds. In the meantime: Ice coffee, ice packs on your head, tea tree oil shampoo to get a tingle going on your scalp; vomiting does reduce intra-cranial pressure, which is what a cold pack on the head and caffeine does; an orgasm will do the same thing; lay down in the dark; if you have a deep pressure massager you can apply that to your head and neck, it sometimes floods you head with blood and ameliorates the pain from just one section having dilated blood vessels; get someone to give you a deep tissue massage of your shoulders, neck and head--same principle. Whatever you do, no matter how much you're tempted, don't cut your head off.
