But the whole time I held her all she wanted to do was lick and nibble me. Hands, arms, neck and chin. I had just showered but had not applied lotion. Any idea why?

about a year ago i decided to adopt a cat. I went to the foster parents house to meet about 12 kittens. I played with a few and thought i had my mind made up but this one tiny grey kitten would not get out of my lap and every time i would reach down to grab a different kitten she would bite my ear. So finally i took her in the other room and she wouldnt stop licking me and nibbling on anything and everything. I almost didnt get her because of this but she came home and hasnt licked me since. The foster mom said she was just trying to get and keep my attention.

It's a cats way of showing affection and ownership. Sounds like she likes you. If you don't want her to keep doig it, then as she licks your hand take the hand she has licked and rub it back on her. You are letting her know that you love her and she is yours now. Like when a mother cat does to her kittens, this will cause it to stop cause you already belong to one another. As she grows up it'll stop on it's own as well

Most likely, it was a sign of affections -- which she WOULD NOT have done if she didn't like you, regardless of WHY she's doing it. Some kitties just like to give kisses like that. Sometimes it means they were weaned too young. Sometimes they're marking you. In any event, it is a form of affection, and sounds incredibly sweet, so I think you have found yourself the cat you are supposed to have. Enjoy her.

the kitty likes you ! I`ve had several cats who liked to lick the water off when I got out of the shower, one who even liked to be in the shower. I guess it`s just a cat thing.

some animals like the smell of a lotion or soap u use. my cat use to lick me after i lotioned my body. then later i found her eating my lotion. my dog use to do the same thing, and it turned out it was my bath soap. i found her blowing soap bubbles. i thought she had rabies. so i made an unecessary trip to the vet. i was mad because already had her rabies shot. so watever. i wish u da best of luck. tell your cat i said best wishes. i hope it helped you wit this opinion.

She may already have grown an attachment to you. Or she may be proving to you that she can love you if only you'd adopt her. Maybe she's learned her trick by watching the other cats when people are around for adoptions.

If she wasn't squirming to get down it means she liked you.Cats nibble like that on each other as a form of grooming.

Its a nursing thing, cats do that to their mothers to get the milk to come down. It will Grow out of it, and if you don't like it, and can curve the behavior. Other than that don't worry about it.

She's grooming you. Meaning you're part of her pack. My cat does that when she's happy, if I've been scratching her neck and ears she'll "return the favor."

Animals tend to groom people and other animals they like. It's sort of a bonding thing. That or you tasted good :)
