Jesus did not get married. I understand it was a good story, but, come on! That type of story is pathetic!

I agree, Jesus could not have gotten married and had a child.
Jesus was only sent here for the purpose of teaching the deciples and spreading Gods word to many, and as a sacrifice to die in our place for sins.
Jesus was a sacrifice without a spot, it is mentioned, that the mesiah was clean of sin.
The Davinci Code is yet another example of swaying from the bible to tell biblical untruths, to create a stir, and to make money, I would not be involved in such blasmophy.

Good question. Everyone has a need to believe something, even when they say they believe nothing, they are believing something, so this is just another avenue for them to try to believe something - and besides, it's so intriguing and what's more fun than believing in intrigue and mystery and the unknown - anyone can pick up the Bible and believe in Truth - that's to blaise` - but you're right, Jesus didn't get married, have children, etc. Dan Brown wrote a good novel, the media hype, along with Tom Hanks and Ron Howard, which disappoints me greatly, made it a hit and run seller - Satan scored! But true Christians will not have fallen - only those who were blown by the winds of every doctrine to begin with and that's the sad part.

Though the DaVinci Code is "Fictional" it does make people aware of the other theories and stories of Jesus.

All it has really done is empowered people to investigate religion and get them involved again. I think it was a great story to be told and a great motivator to get people looking to the bible again.

Ppl are believing it because there trying to find the truth....there just looking in the wrong place....the Da Vinci movie is causing a lot of confusion so Christians need to be ready to help ppl understand the truth instead of the lies that that movie gave.,.....and The Da Vinci code isnt just an every day movie.....the producers say that it is "fact".....thats part of the reason why its such a big issue.

I dunno. Maybe because they have never really had the opportunity or the curiosity to study any particular religion in depth. I, personally, know that it's not true but I refuse to see it because I consider it to be blasphemous. I ain't no angel by a long-shot, but I'm trying to keep from breaking the rest of the Ten Commandments I haven't broken already. I won't recommend the DaVinci Code, but I do endorse Mel Gibson's "The Passion Of The Christ.

I agree completely. I see no reason why the Catholic church is making such a big deal out of a self-declared work of fiction. It is not like the author or anyone else involved is trying to pawn this off as historical events. The book/movie is exactly what you said it is, a story.

Its basically just saying that Jesus had a son and then some fools made up the bible so the Catholic Church could brainwash everyone else and control everyone.
Everything in the book such as historical events, paintings, artifacts and architecture are real.

to say that no one believes it is a BIG FAT LIE.

Christians have been denying the true nature of Mary Magdalene since the life of Christ.

There are indeed people who believe it and why not?

Cause it doesn't make sense?

Sure it does! just cause the bible doesn't say anything about it doesn't mean that it isn't true.

You either believe the bible or you don't. but there's no way to prove one or the other.

And no you can't use the bible as proof for the bible, and if you do, you're an idiot.

Maybe it's that the bible is a pathetic story. I mean, at least the movie makes some kind of sense. Who the hell followed 'god' around and kept a diary anyway???? Build a bridge...get over it!!

Everyone doesn't believe it. I don't, and I know tons of people who don't, too. It's fiction. It was made up. It's a good story, but it's still just as fictional as Anne Rice and Stephen King books.

well, you never know. We all know the film and book is fiction. Its a thrilling one too. Its also a good thing to ask questions and debate things that are so-called true. What happened 2000 years ago is not easy to proove, so debate must allways be allowed.
