i am going on a cruise to San Juan, ST. Thomas, and the British Virgin Islands are there stray dogs running loose there??

I can tell you that in PR it is a big problem and there are new organizations like Save a Sato (stray dog) trying to help the community with this epidemic. The biggest problem is that people don't really treat pets like in the states. There is no control on neutering dogs etc. big problem!!! check out this site for more info. http://www.saveasato.org/

Puerto Ricans do not believe in killing stray dogs like in the US. They are usually in the country side and people feed them the same way you feed a bird who travels to your door.

I am not sure but just in case there are do not pet them they could have rabies.
