Well this all depends on what you want and how big your room is.
You could try looking in the Argos catalogue, small accessories could give you a better idea of what style you like.
Also if you live near an ikea go there, good for modern fresh styles at a budget.
Also go to hard ware shops, get paint samples etc.
The white minimalistic look is Good, but you have to be prepared to clean every day! Or you could go for an all out pink room, full of pink lights etc.

since you are on the computer you could go into a web site that tells you about decorating your home. One that would be called redecorating or colour painting your home, I am sure there are thousands of sites available. Even going to a hardware store they have ideas and paint samples and hopefully someone that could give you a few good ideas. Good luck and go with something daring and new that you would be comfortable with.

Paint a fence on your wall with wildflowers. Then paint a horse head like coming out of the corner looking over the fence. Make a hook and put on one of the poles and hang a cowboy hat off of it. Paint some birds and other animals around the fence.
Or heck just get a life size picture of some great looking man back side nude and put up....

omg im doing the same thing!!
im really really into art..and i have a lot of drawings and paintings and stuff like that so im gonna put that all over my room....i know it sounds like im all into myself but im not! lol
its just that my room had random things in it..and it looks cheapy lol
my furniture is like white with black..so im gonna put a black or neutral color border on every piece..it just looks elegantish
so ill be taking everything off my walls and having my work up..i hope it looks nice..im still trying to get everything off right now lol

I always like dark blue with the moon and stars motif but if your not into that, I have one room in my house all done with dragons and wizards and faeries and one room is dedicated to Indian things like dream catchers and medicine wheels and things like that. It depends on what you are really into and what you can stand to look at everyday.

Are you changing just the color scheme or are you getting new furniture too? Do you have unlimited money or a small budget?
Try changing just the accessories of your room - curtains/blinds, bedspread, throw rugs, throw pillows.
Paint.
