On average, how many times does a person use the word “the” in day to day conversation?

I would say ON AVERAGE about once per sentence. That being said, I would also imagine that based on that observation the actual number of times would be directly proportional to the amount of time the speaker spends talking. So the lower end would probably be somewhere around three or four hundred and the upper end around 100,000 like my idiotic brother.

The words where the same the president of the U.S. used in the speech the presidential adviser wrote on the paper from the desk of the president of the U.S. The words where that the sum of the times the word "The" is used in the average day is beyond the ability to find the accurate total. Thus the total the's said in the day is still the topic of the discussion.

I would guess "the" word "the" is used about 800 times a day. But, there are some very quiet people who don't talk much. I talk a lot and I would guess I would use about 800 "the"s a day. Even though I didn't use "the" much in this sentence or any other sentence. I'm definitely not going to count how many times I use "the" word "the" but I am going to go asking around how many times other people use "the".

I don't have actual numbers because it all depends on how many words a person says in a day, to begin with. But I would say 'the' is about 5%-10% of a person's overall word usage in a day. So if you say 1000 words in a day, you'd say 'the' 50-100 times that day.

But then again, 94.763% of all statistics are made up on the spot...

It's about once every 30-40 words spocken but it's depending on the person seacking like when indians speck english thay use it more than australians and americans but to be certain it's no big deal comprared to facts like how many times the word best, Order, Now, Click, Home and copyright appears on the web or how much words like hello is spocken by anyone doing english. The thing is, what is the average amount of the people we are thinking about, The ones on the phone, the ones on the computers the others at factory jobs,or all of the above, and allot more of the others, I would have to say the amount would be staggering maybe 300.00 times a day.

That's quite an interesting question John If I may call you John ,Well I think you should look at it like this How many times did you sing the word the on your album? It seems that the word the is stuck on to any reference to any thing from inatimate objects to living beings to unexplained phenomenons. I can't give you a number but with out " the" it would be really hard to talk about anything.

The word "the" is in almost every sentence a person uses. So throughout a day a person uses probably 1000 sentences or more. Therefore in just one day, a person uses "the" over 1000 times!
