the rule of thumb for puppies :
they can hold their bladder 1 hour for every month. i.e your puppy is say 2 months, it can hold it for 2 hours.
Keep using positive re-enforcement, praising when she goes outside and as many others have said a firm NO should do the trick. Have TONS of patience with her, she will get it soon enough

I potty trained my puppy just like I did my kids. Take the puppy out every 3 or 4 hours even when it is sleeping. This might sound cruel but do it at night also so no matter when the puppy has to go it will learn to hold it until it goes outside or its bladder gets big enough to hold it for longer periods of time. Mostly this works to save you the headache of cleaning it up or the smell in your house. You might try a squirt gun or bottle and when the dog starts to squat squirt the dog so he will learn not to pee in the house. This has also been a succssefull method for me

Sometimes dogs are very picky about where they go... my pug takes a great while to decide where she wants to go. I've had several dogs and I have trained them without potty pads, newspapers, etc. Of course, you have to remember that they will have a few accidents while they are learning. keep them confined to the kitchen or a hard floor so the smell of pee will not deter them during training. Take her outside and place her on the grass. Say "outside"a few times. When she goes, say "good girl!" and be ready to reward her with a dog biscut or a bite size carrot. Keep her on a tight potty schedule so she will learn when to expect to go out.... 7am, 9:30 11, 1, 3:30, 6, 8, 10:30 before bed. After a few days she will get it. (If she pees on the floor, lead her to it and say no several times and point. she will know that it si not good. right after you show her, take her outside and let her pee using the above training.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMPQv

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

I was able to get my German Shepherd to go potty where I wanted her to by soaking a rag in her pee and then staking it in the yard where I wanted her to go. Then I would take her out every time I thought about it, once every hour or so when she was little, and take her right to the rag. Then when she did go I would tell her what a good dog she was. When she had accidents I would pick her up with a no nonsense attitude of irritation (which they completely pick up on) and tell her loudly "NO!" You have to catch them right when/directly after they do it because puppies have such short attention spans. Then, even if they are all peed out, take them to their spot and tell them that this is where they are to go. It didn't take long for her to get the idea, although every accident makes it feel like it's taking forever.

NEVER spank her if she does it in the floor, just say no because if you spank her, she will relate that with doing something wrong (chewin on something) and will think its bad to use the bathroom period and will try to hide it if she can't hold it. If you catch her when it happens, pick her up and put her outside. Never leave her unattended if you do not have a fenced in yard though, it only takes a second to get run over (TRUST ME). Just relate potty with outside. She will get the hang of it.

Just what you are doing! And just take her out in-between signals, even if you don't think she has to go. Take her out and praise the cheezwhiz out of her.

I'll save the usual speech, since you seem to have an idea of what you're doing, just take her out more often. She'll need to go out less and less as time goes on.

Good luck!

we took my jack russell terrier, starting when he was 10 wks., out every two hours and when he went, praised a lot. He learned REALLY quickly that way! We were surprised at how fast he was potty trained.

I trained my puppy Rosie by getting a rubber mat and telling her that this is where she needs to go and i didnt feed her before she went to sleep because she would have to go potty in the middle of the night. hope this helps.
